From September 23, we build for it together: you bring an app idea, we bring Modaal, Xcode 27.1 and a Discord channel where our team answers for the whole four weeks. Everyone works toward the same date — App Review by October 16, live on October 23 — so Duo owners find your app the morning they unbox the phone.

How to get set up
- 1Download Xcode 27.1 beta from Apple. You need a free Apple Developer account and an Apple silicon Mac on macOS 26.6 or later.
- 2In Xcode, open Settings → Components and install the iOS 27.1 simulator. iPhone Duo appears only with the 27.1 runtime.
- 3Open your project in Modaal, select Xcode 27.1 beta and run on the iPhone Duo simulator. The first simulator launch can take a few minutes.
Keep Xcode 27 installed next to the beta. App Store updates for your current apps still have to be built with the release version.
